Hydroseeding

Achieve Your Dream Lawn with Home Grown Gardens Hydroseeding

Hydroseeding is the fast, efficient, and cost-effective way to establish a beautiful, healthy lawn or control erosion on slopes. Our proven hydroseeding process gives your grass or native plantings the perfect start.

Our Effective Hydroseeding Difference

We use a unique, all-in-one approach that establishes vegetation faster and cleaner than traditional methods.

  • One Simple Step: Our specialized mixture combines seed, fertilizer, hydromulch, tackifier, and water in a single application.

  • Faster Establishment: You'll see germination sooner and a thick, healthy lawn result.

  • Save Time & Money: We eliminate the need for labor-intensive top-dressing or messy, unsightly straw.

  • Expert Coverage: Even difficult areas like steep hillsides or narrow spaces are easily seeded with our professional equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long until I have a lawn?

  • Germination: You'll often see initial germination in as little as five to seven days, depending on the season.

  • Filling In: Most grass types take three to four weeks to fill in.

  • Strong Growth: Expect to see strong, established growth in about eight weeks, depending on the seed type and watering schedule.

What is the best time of year to hydroseed?

  • Ideal Times: Spring and early fall are generally most conducive for establishing a new lawn.

  • Summer Success: Successful establishment can also occur in warm summer temperatures, provided you have an efficient irrigation system.

  • Slopes/Unirrigated Areas: For un-irrigated slopes and native plantings, early fall is best, allowing fall rains to assist germination.

Can I walk on the hydroseed?

Only briefly for initial irrigation setup. Once germination begins, walking on the area will cause damage to the young, developing seedlings.

Will the green color stain my walkways?

The green dye that may have splashed onto foundations or walkways will usually fade away within a few days. You can easily hose it off with a garden hose. The colorant has no effect on the quality of the seed and is just there for visibility during application.
